Flaming Hot Decorative Papers Video

Postby TerraO on Wed Sep 16, 2009 1:15 am

Here's a tutorial that teaches you how to make decorative background papers for all your projects! I used these on my never-ending card, but you can adapt them to fit your needs. If the steps go by too fast, be sure to hit the pause button. Hope you enjoy!

Wonderful techniques. I really enjoyed seeing what you do and learning from it.

Do you use any fixative over the top? Does the acrylic paint sluff off at all?

Fabulous tutorial, thanks so much for sharing.

Great tutorial, especially since I'm mesmerized by fire and like to use flame-themed paper in my projects.

Looks messy. Looks fun! I'll have to give it a go!

Thanks!

I didn't on these, but you could spray it with a fixative or if you cut or punch out smaller pieces (like the circles or squares on my neverending card) you could use clear nail polish. It would take alot of polish to do a whole page! When the paint dries I guess it could flake off if you handle it too roughly, but I haven't had it happen yet anytime I've used acrylics, even when I cut them. For these papers they have kinda a grungy look to them, so if it did happen I think that would just add to it.

I'm so glad you like the tutorial! I was debating on whether or not to add it since this paper doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone, but it can be adapted to fit everyone's taste! :D

:D I just wanted to share, Kelli has been trying to upload an example but for some reason can't comment on this thread, so I told her I would post for her...she made a journal for a Gutter Girlz challenge using my paper tutorial and the paper (and journal) looks great! Here's the link:

I'm sorry Kelli isn't able to post, I'll change the prefs for this forum so she'll have access. Apparently anything labeled "video" in a forum is subject to porn. But I want Kelli & others to be able to post, and didn't realize the prefs would hinder this... coming in a moment!

I changed it though. I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out on leaving a comment in this section :P
