Mock Pyrography

Postby GlitteryKatie on Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:58 am

I wanted to create a tile that had the look of pyrography without the heat and pain!!

Image

I had an off cut of pine from DH's DIY.
I used my Crop-a-dile to make holes in the top corners of the wood so I could thread some wire through.
The wire is used as a hanger for the tile.
I also threaded some beads onto thin wire and poked it through the holes at the front for decoration!

I stamped my image onto the wood using brown Staz-On.
I wiped the ink pad around the edges of the wood for an aged look!

The back of the tile was untidy so I covered it with a page from an old book.
I stuck copper tape around the edges of the tile and squished them with a bone folder and a little stippled wheel.

So there you have it- pyrography with out the pain!

Whoa Katie, this is phenomenal!!! It totally looks wood burned and all the embellishments are perfectly balanced. I am in utter awe.

I love this. Totally amazing without the dangerous aspects of fire and burning and suchlike.
