Ink Spray and Smash

Postby MrsETaylor on Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:20 am

Hey there Everyone. It is monday morning and I've got another Tutorial to share with you all. I came across an amazing technique and wanted to give it a try. It is called the Ink, Spray and Smash technique and it really makes the prettiest backgrounds. Imagine some of the clothing for those bombshells, done with this technique. Simple stunning.

First you will need
3-4 colors of reinkers { I used Nick Bantock reinkers}
glossy cardstock in white
Staz-on
stamp of choice
heat tool
Mini Mister filled with water

Image

Step 1- Apply 5-6 drops of the lightest color reinker onto one sheet of glossy cardstock

Image

Step 2- Apply 4-5 drops of the next color {second lighest} onto glossy cardstock

Image

Step 3- Repeat with the second darkest color 3-4 drops and then the darkest 1-2 drops

Image

Step 4- Spray entire piece of cardstock liberally with mini mister

Image

Step 5- Press down clear piece of glossy cardstock onto ink splattered piece. Making sure to smash all the way to the edge of the cardstock.

Step 6- Pull pieces apart and dry with heat tool

Step 7- Stamp first image onto paper and one additional image onto scrap piece for masking.

Step 8- Cut out image for masking and temporarily adhere to top of stamped image.

Step 9- Stamp second image onto background glossy cardstock piece

Step 10- Create card using background piece

A really easy technique that really creates a wonderful background. Use yellows, oranges and reds for sunsets. Darker greens and blues for ocean scenes. Mix it up and see what you come up with.

Post your creations in the gallery and let us see what you've come up with using the Ink, Spray and Smash technique.

Cool technique. Looks like fun. Great results too. I really like that card!

I LOVE that you used gloves. I never even thought of that. :? Duh!

Your nails are really pretty and the gloves protected your manicure. Cool.
